Dr. Claire Schmidt
General Practitioner
MChB Medicine (UK), BSc (Hons), FRACGP, DCH, Grad. Cert. Mental health
Dr. Claire Schmidt brings a wealth of experience and expertise to Allora Medical. Having completed her training in the United Kingdom, she specialised in pediatrics before relocating to Australia, where she spent 12 years contributing her skills to the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) in primary health and emergency settings.

Dr. Schmidt's experience has given her valuable insight into the unique healthcare needs of communities in rural areas. She has a special interest in mental health and psychotherapy, recognising the significance of addressing psychological well-being alongside physical health. She also provides a comprehensive weight loss counselling service.
In December of 2022 Dr. Schmidt became the proud owner of Allora Medical. She has made it her mission to ensure each patient who walks through the practice doors receives excellent care personalised to their needs.
Dr. Devaindran Elango
Skin Cancer Doctor
MD, FRACGP, MMed (Skin Cancer UQ)
Dr Devaindran Elango is an Accredited Skin Cancer Doctor recognised by the Skin Cancer College Australasia. He has experience working in skin cancer clinics across Toowoomba, Brisbane and Ipswich. His focus is mainly in the early detection and treatment of skin cancers. Dr Elango offers comprehensive skin checks along with surgical and non-surgical treatment options for skin cancers with an aim to provide high quality care for his patients. In addition to certificates in skin cancer surgery and clinical procedures, he has a master’s degree in the field of skin cancer from The University of Queensland.
Dr. Bronwen Howson
General Practitioner
Dr. Bronwen Howson graduated from Monash University in 1987. Before commencing general practice, she spent several years working as a resident at Western General Hospital (now Footscray hospital) in Melbourne.

Dr. Howson's areas of interest include women’s health, preventative health, psychological medicine, counselling, holistic and complementary medicine. Outside of work she enjoys being in nature, bushwalking, swimming, reading, listening to music and knitting.
Dr. Paulo Barac
Senior Registrar
Originally from South Sudan, Dr. Paulo Barac and his wife migrated to the Garden City in 2000. Having completed his studies, Dr Paulo joins the Allora Medical team as a Senior GP Registrar.
