Queensland is in the fourth week of a COVID-19 wave, with cases expected to peak in two weeks. We're urging patients aged over 65 to book in for a booster shot if they haven't received one already this year.

Here's what you can do to protect yourself and your loved ones this festive season:

  • Cover your coughs and sneezes with a tissue or your arm. Dispose of used tissues in the bin, and don't forget to wash your hands promptly.

  • Wash your hands regularly with soap and water. It's a simple yet powerful practice to reduce the risk of infection.

  • Steer clear of kissing anyone displaying cold-like symptoms and refrain from sharing personal items like cups.

  • If you're feeling unwell, the best course of action is to stay home. Take care of yourself, and help prevent the spread of the virus.

If you have concerns about how COVID-19 may affect you, don't hesitate to reach out to your doctor or call 13 HEALTH for free health advice.
