Queensland is in the fourth week of a COVID-19 wave, with cases expected to peak in two weeks. We're urging patients aged over 65 to book in for a booster shot if they haven't received one already this year.
Here's what you can do to protect yourself and your loved ones this festive season:
Cover your coughs and sneezes with a tissue or your arm. Dispose of used tissues in the bin, and don't forget to wash your hands promptly.
Wash your hands regularly with soap and water. It's a simple yet powerful practice to reduce the risk of infection.
Steer clear of kissing anyone displaying cold-like symptoms and refrain from sharing personal items like cups.
If you're feeling unwell, the best course of action is to stay home. Take care of yourself, and help prevent the spread of the virus.
If you have concerns about how COVID-19 may affect you, don't hesitate to reach out to your doctor or call 13 HEALTH for free health advice.
